The National Population Census (NPC) has clarified that it is currently not engaged in any recruitment process, News About Nigeria has learnt.

The NPC took to Twitter to address a false post that congratulated an individual on their successful application for the Census Adhoc Staff.

The Commission emphasized that there are no ongoing recruitment activities for the Census, as it had already completed the selection of personnel for the 2023 Census before it was postponed.

The 2023 Population and Housing Census, initially planned for May 3rd to 7th, had to be rescheduled due to a decision made by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The new dates for this important national census will be announced by President Bola Tinubu.

Nasir Kwarra, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), shared this information during a briefing with journalists at the presidential villa in Abuja.

It is crucial to note that the NPC’s recent statement serves as a reminder that no recruitment is currently taking place for the Census.

Any claims or posts suggesting otherwise should be dismissed as false.

The Commission has already finalized the selection process for the required personnel before the postponement of the census.

The Population and Housing Census is a significant national endeavour that aims to gather accurate and up-to-date information about the population and living conditions across the country.

It provides essential data for planning, policymaking, and resource allocation.

The NPC, as the responsible authority for conducting the census, is committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the process.
