Actor Yomi Fabiyi criticizes Jaiye Kuti for her remarks on struggling veteran actors seeking help online.

In a recent video, Jaiye Kuti expressed her disappointment with seasoned actors resorting to online begging due to their financial and health challenges, News About Nigeria reports.

She raised concerns about how their pleas for help are negatively impacting the reputation of the Yoruba film industry. Jaiye Kuti emphasized the need for better financial planning among actors and criticized the misuse of their earlier earnings.

While she acknowledged the importance of fundraising for health emergencies, she argued against tarnishing the industry’s image by begging for basic necessities.

The video sparked mixed reactions, with some supporting her honesty while others condemned her for disrespecting senior colleagues.

Responding to her statement, Yomi Fabiyi took to Instagram and criticized her stance and explained that if someone needs help and chooses to make it public, it shouldn’t bother anyone. Yomi emphasized that if Jaiye Kuti cannot offer assistance to ailing or financially unstable actors, she should allow them to seek help freely.

He stated, “We just learn to respect people’s decisions, choices, and actions. All man for himself… I prefer these veteran stars to seek charity than engage in drug trafficking, fraud, rituals, etc., just to survive their present hardship.”

Yomi further highlighted the silent suffering of many old actors and the potential consequences they face without seeking assistance. He urged for a more organized approach to charity, acknowledging that numerous veterans are silently struggling and may face disgraceful circumstances if not supported.
