Wike Says He'll Transform Abuja Before 2027

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a plea to President Bola Tinubu, urging him not to accept the former Governor Nyesom Wike to take control of the party in the state.

The party expressed concern that recognizing Wike would undermine the loyalty of dedicated APC members who have remained steadfast.

In an open letter to President Tinubu, dated July 6th and seen by journalists at the State House in Abuja on Friday, the Rivers state APC called on the President to reject Wike’s

The letter, signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Darlington Nwauju, cautioned President Tinubu to be wary of Wike and his allies.

He also highlighted that the former governor’s current claims of supporting the party would only undermine loyal and committed APC members and stakeholders.

“We wish to clarify that Governor Wike did not contribute any value to our beloved Rivers State APC,” the party stated.

Despite facing these challenges, the Rivers APC resisted the aggressive attacks led by former Governor Wike on innocent party followers and members during the 2015 presidential election.

The Rivers state APC firmly rejected efforts to accord recognition to Wike following the party’s electoral victory in the state.

The chapter emphasized that Wike had not made any meaningful contributions to the development of Rivers State APC; instead, he had actively opposed the party.

Addressing Tinubu, the chapter appealed to his consistent party loyalty and his commitment to practical, people-oriented principles of party growth and sustainability.
