N’Golo Kante has signed a two-year deal with Saudi Pro League Side Al Ittihad, New About Nigeria reports.

The former Chelsea player is said to have completed medical tests ahead of his new job in London, after meeting with the Saudi club emissaries.

Kante’s move is said to be spontaneous and unexpectedly fast, having initially shown commitment to remain with Chelsea shortly before the end of the 2022/23 English Premier League (EPL) season.

Chelsea also seems to have included him in their long-term plan just before the juicy offer came along from Al Ittihad.

Kante is expected to earn in excess of €100m per season, this figure includes image rights, commercial deals and creative portfolio.

His contract is expected to expire in June 2025, with an option for a one-year extension.

He will now join Karim Benzema who was also recently announced by the club, after spending 14 years with Real Madrid, winning every title in the Spanish top-flight league, including the Ballon d’Or award in 2022.

Kante on the other hand also won the 2021 Champions League with Chelsea, however, his time with the West London side has been marred by a series of injuries, preventing him from sufficient match time at the club.

His exit also implies a major dent in Chelsea’s midfield, especially as Mateo Kovacic has also been linked with a move to Manchester City, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has indicated keen interest in Brighton’s young star, Moises Caicedo, who is expected to render assistance to the club’s new signing Enzo Fernandez.
