Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, the Managing Director of Corporate Pictures Nigeria Limited, a prominent movie marketing company, also confirmed the heartbreaking news.

Expressing his shock and disbelief, Olaiya conveyed his sorrowful thoughts, stating, “I am truly taken aback by this news. Just moments ago, I was praising him.”

Seun Oloketuyi, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry and the organizer of the esteemed Best of Nollywood Awards, affirmed the authenticity of the news, revealing that Afolabi had indeed passed away due to the unfortunate fall in his bathroom.

Tunde Ola-Yusuf, another filmmaker, paid tribute to the late actor on Facebook, sharing a picture of Afolabi accompanied by the poignant words, “Rest in peace. May the family and close friends find the strength to cope with this loss. Goodnight, Murphy Afolabi.”

Fidelis Duker, yet another filmmaker, expressed his disbelief, questioning the current string of tragedies and revealing that he had just watched Afolabi’s performance in a movie.

Meanwhile, fellow Yoruba actors expressed their condolences and offered support to the grieving family of the deceased.

The news of Murphy Afolabi’s passing has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill.

Born on May 5, 1974, Afolabi ventured into the Nigerian film industry in 2001, leaving an indelible mark on the Yoruba movie landscape.
