Nigerian music sensation Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has expressed his reaction to the victory of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, in the Supreme Court, News About Nigeria reports.
The court upheld the election of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, dismissing the appeal by former governor Gboyega Oyetola.
In the ruling delivered on Tuesday by a five-member panel, Justice Emmanuel Agip stated that the appeal lacked any shred of merit.
The panel further explained that Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to provide evidence to support their allegations of non-accreditation of voters in 744 polling units, leading to over-voting.
The panel also unanimously determined that the election tribunal in Osun failed to address the preliminary objections raised by Adeleke and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which violated the principle of fair hearing and invalidated the entire proceeding.
Taking to Twitter, Davido expressed his delight at his uncle’s triumph by sharing a photo of Ademola Adeleke seated in the governorship position.
In his tweet, Davido hinted at surprising their opponents with the unexpected outcome, using a vivid metaphor of shocking them like high-voltage electricity.
He tweeted:

Recall that in his previous tweet, Davido had requested divine intervention for the judicial affirmation of Ademola Adeleke’s mandate, emphasizing that the most challenging part had already been accomplished: winning a free and fair election.
“Osun State Election Petition hearing comes up at the Supreme Court today.
We look forward to the judicial affirmation of @AAdeleke_01 (The people’s) mandate.
The hardest part is done, winning a free and fair Election. 🇳🇬🙏🏾 May God let the court do the right thing 🙏🏾 ❤️”, Davido prayed on Monday.
