Nigerian actor and filmmaker, Frederick Leonard have called out cast and crew members who come on set with unpleasant body and mouth odour, making others uncomfortable.
The actor’s comment came after his colleague, Victor Okpalan, took to his Instagram page to complain about the use of deodorants on movie sets, News About Nigeria gathered.
Leonard took to the comment section and criticized the movie crew members who fail to keep themselves clean and have an unpleasant smell on their bodies.
He pointed out that anyone with a functioning brain should use a deodorant, especially when they know they will be working with people for long periods of hours.
In his words,
“Any Human being That Has A FUNCTIONING BRAIN 🧠 Wether Cast or Crew, should Use Deodorants. And touch up Again by 5. pm so you don’t begin to smell like rotten Goat 🙄 For a Profession that requires that we are Constantly on our Feet for a minimum of 14 hours, COMMON SENSE SHOULD APPLY.. And Let’s not Forget Mint or Gum to Fight Mouth Odor. Thank You
Leonard’s comments have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some people applauding his stance and others criticizing him for his harsh words.

Meanwhile, Frederick Leonard’s complaint comes in the wake of a similar statement made by fellow actor Victor Okpalan.
In a post on his Instagram page, Victor Okpalan lamented that some of his colleagues on set have the habit of using strong-smelling deodorants, which he claims can be very distracting and uncomfortable for other cast and crew members.
