In a recent social media post, Nigerian politician Opeyemi Falegan has caused quite a stir with his opinion on women and money.
News about Nigeria gathered that Falegan, known to be the ex-partner of actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, shared his thoughts on Instagram, stating that once a woman starts asking a man for money, it means she is madly in love with him.
The post has received mixed reactions from social media users, with some expressing support for Falegan’s opinion, while others have criticized it as being patriarchal and outdated.
Many have also pointed out that financial support in a relationship should not be seen as a measure of love, but rather as a partnership in which both parties contribute equally.
The debate surrounding gender roles and finances in relationships is not a new one, and Falegan’s post has only added fuel to the fire.
Some have even accused him of using this as a ploy to gain attention and relevance in the media.
