Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Marcus Rashford will miss their Europa League quarter-final clash against Sevilla on Thursday and a few other games because of injury.

News About Nigeria understands that Rashford limped off in the 80th minute of the 2-0 Premier League win against Everton last Saturday. However, the England international is expected to return before the end of the season.

The 25-year-old striker was seen clutching his groin and immediately headed to the dressing room for treatment.

Man United has said the England international “will be unavailable for a few games but is expected to be back for the season run-in”.

Highly in-form Rashford has scored 28 goals in all competitions this season, helping the Red Devils secure the Carabao Cup while fixing his gaze on the Europa League.

During his news conference ahead of the Sevilla match, Ten Hag was asked if Rashford will return in time for the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton on April 22.

He said, “It’s a few games, that’s the statement. I can’t give more details because we don’t know. We have to see how the injury develops.”

United currently sits 4th in the English Premier League table (EPL), with 56 points in 29 matches.

The English side has won 17 matches in the league this season, drew 5 and lost 7.

They’re far behind Arsenal (73 points) and Manchester City,(67 points) who are the top two leaders in the league.

The 2022/23 EPL season has 8 more matches to go.

Should Man United retain its position till the end of the season, they will migrate from Europa to the Champions League, with three other teams in the League.
