Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma Ejikeme, the Anambra pupil accused of forging her 2023 UTME result, has expressed his reliance on God to navigate the situation.
News About Nigeria reports that Mmesoma had been accused by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) of inflating her UTME result manually.
According to JAMB, Mmesoma’s claimed score of 362 was inconsistent with the actual result of 249, as revealed by the board on Tuesday.
Consequently, her result was withdrawn, and she was banned from taking the examination for the next three years.
In an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday, July 4, Mmesoma’s father, Romanus Ejikeme, stated that he has surrendered the matter to God and will not seek legal action.
During the interview, Mr. Ejikeme reiterated that the result his daughter had been claiming was printed from the JAMB portal. He firmly believes that the board is working against his daughter’s interests.
“My daughter did not commit any offense. She is innocent because she has consistently been a top student from secondary school until now. She is very studious and takes her education seriously. Sometimes she studies until daybreak to achieve good results. So she cannot commit such a crime,” he asserted.
Moreover, Ejikeme, who mentioned his background as a musician and previous victory in a competition before becoming a motorcycle rider, shared his decision not to pursue any legal action. He expressed his trust in God to guide them through this challenging situation.
“I am not doing anything. I will simply leave everything to God. God knows the truth,“ he said.
