In defending himself against the petition lodged by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), President Bola Tinubu has submitted his educational records from Chicago State University, News About Nigeria reports.
Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), a prominent legal representative, presented a collection of certified documents from Chicago State University during the court proceedings.
These records, endorsed on June 28, 2023, by Jamar C. Orr, the Associate General Counsel at the Office of Legal Affairs at Chicago State University, have the potential to greatly impact the ongoing case.
The submission of Tinubu’s educational records aims to dispel any doubts surrounding the president’s academic qualifications. By presenting these documents, the defence team seeks to showcase the authenticity and legitimacy of Tinubu’s educational background, countering the allegations made by the petitioners.
Furthermore, the legal team also tendered a 2007 letter from the United States Embassy in Nigeria, which cleared Tinubu of any criminal charges in the US.
