Tola Azeez, a Nigerian woman, has voiced her frustration over the Nigeria Police Force’s alleged failure to pay her the N5 million compensation she was awarded following a court ruling for the assault she endured.

News About Nigeria recalls that the incident, which garnered widespread attention, took place in Iwo, Osun State, and was captured in a viral video.

The footage depicted Tola being repeatedly flogged with a cane by uniformed policemen.

Seeking justice for the assault she endured, Tola took legal action against the officers involved and the entire police force.

Ultimately, she emerged victorious as the court ruled in her favor, ordering the police to pay her N5 million as compensation for the damages suffered.

In response to a question, one @betawale shared a recent photo and wrote; Here she is, the lady beaten at Iwo by police officers. her name is @fabhally. The officers were dismissed, court ordered that the police pay her compensation but till now, kobo she never get. This photo was at the hospital after the incident. She is just getting balanced again.

However, Tola recently took to Twitter to express her disappointment, stating that the police force has not fulfilled its obligation to provide her with the court-ordered compensation.

In her plea, she called on fellow Nigerians to intervene and ensure that the relevant authorities uphold the court’s decision.

The update came in response to a question raised by someone inquiring if Tola had finally obtained justice.

Her statement highlights the ongoing struggle she faces in obtaining the compensation awarded to her and emphasizes the need for public support to hold the police accountable.

She said; “Alhamdulillah I am living to tell this story. Not easy. The pains I went through can never be forgotten. Still feels like yesterday. Thank you @betawale you stood solid.”

The assault victim added; “This is me. Nigerians you raised your voice for me then. Till now I didn’t get a dime from the Nigerian police. The refused to obey the rule of law. Even after the court pronounced it in judgement that they should pay me damages worth of 5million naira, they have refused.”
