The leadership of Labour Party has rejected the verdict delivered by the Presidential Election Petition tribunal on petitions brought by its candidate Peter Obi against the election of President Bola Tinibu.

Rejecting the verdict in a press release made available by LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiorah Ifoh, the party argued that the stance of the tribunal did not reflect the law and the desire of the people.
“The Labour Party watched with dismay and trepidation the dismissal of petitions by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Court led by Justice Haruna Tsammani today and we reject the outcome of the judgment in its entirety because justice was not served and it did not reflect the law and the desire of the people,” the statement read.
The party suggested that the election tribunal had in its wisdom refused to accept the obvious fact from the election that was globally condemned.

The party further told its supporters that it would present its position after consultation with its lawyers and the certified true copy of the judgement had been made public.

Recall that the tribunal had struck out all petitions brought by Labour Party against the victory of President Bola Tinubu at the February presidential election.

Recall that the presidential candidate of the Party and his vice were not n court at the time the appeal court justices were ruling on his petition.

However, at the time of filing this report, the tribunal was still reading out the verdict on the argument brought by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar against the emergence of President Bola Tinubu.
