Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has once more put an end to speculations linking him to the Germany national team role, News About Nigeria gathered.
Despite being a perennial candidate for the prestigious position, Klopp has firmly ruled out leaving Liverpool for the national team post.
While acknowledging that coaching the German national team would be a great honor, Klopp emphasized his unwavering loyalty to Liverpool, stating that he cannot just leave the club abruptly to take over Germany.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, Klopp expressed his stance on the matter, saying, “The job of national coach is and would be a great honor — there’s no question about that.
“The problem that stands in the way of the whole thing is my loyalty. I can’t just leave Liverpool now and say I’ll take over Germany for a short time. That doesn’t work and the request isn’t even there.”
Despite his interest in managing the German national team at some point in the future, Klopp acknowledges his current commitment to Liverpool and the responsibility he owes to the club.
He signed a new four-year contract in April 2022, further solidifying his dedication to the Reds.
While Klopp’s name has often been linked with the Germany job, there is currently no indication of any imminent change.
The current Germany manager, Hansi Flick, is facing pressure due to disappointing results, leading to rumours of a potential replacement.
However, Klopp is focused on his role at Liverpool, and the request for his services has not materialized.
