Oyo Releases 2024 BECE Results For Junior Secondary Schools

The Oyo State Government has announced the release of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results for Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3) students in both public and private schools, News About Nigeria reports.

This was confirmed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, on Friday.

According to the release, school principals from public and private institutions are to collect their students’ results from their respective Local Inspector of Education (LIE) offices starting Monday, September 23, 2024.

Prof. Adelabu said that the timely release of the results reflects the government’s commitment to improving the state’s education sector.

He also commended school principals and staff for their cooperation during the examination process and urged students to focus on their studies and avoid distractions.

In a separate development, the Oyo State Government and leaders from communities affected by the Ibadan Circular Road project held a closed-door meeting on Friday regarding the demolition of houses in the designated project corridor.

As previously reported, residents of Ibadan had protested at the State Secretariat in Agodi over the demolition of their homes earlier in the week.

The closed-door meeting, which began around 1:30 pm, took place in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Lands at the Oyo State Government Secretariat.

The government’s delegation included key officials such as the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin; the Commissioner for Lands, Akin-Funmilayo; the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd), along with other security officers.

Community leaders from affected areas such as Egbeda, Ona-Ara, Oluyole, Lagelu, and Akinyele were also in attendance.
