The mother of the late singer Mohbad has accused his wife, Wunmi, of betrayal, alleging that she removed all of Mohbad’s belongings from his house without informing anyone, including his family.
News About Nigeria reports that the 27-year-old singer, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that have sparked widespread controversy and debate on social media.
In a video, Mohbad’s mother expressed her disappointment, saying, “Wunmi betrayed me. I stood by her with sincerity and honesty, but now I regret it. She went behind my back and took all of Mohbad’s belongings without telling anybody, not even me or Mohbad’s kid brother. When I confronted her, she started raining abuses on me.”
She added that she had supported her daughter-in-law through difficult times and stood behind her with sincerity.
“I wasn’t home when they came to pack the properties. They’re cursing me, saying I want to inherit the properties. May Mohbad’s creator judge them,” she lamented.
In a related development, Karimot, Wunmi’s half-sister, has severed ties with her sibling and made shocking allegations about Mohbad’s death.
During a TikTok Live session, Karimot accused Wunmi of playing a sinister role in her husband’s demise and claimed to have evidence against her.
Karimot alleged that Wunmi took Mohbad’s phone from his grieving mother and refused to return it, despite the device being crucial evidence.
She said, “When the police were collecting phones, they thought they had all of them, but there’s one phone that wasn’t handed over. Wunmi and her mother lied to me. They knew if I knew the whole truth, I would have sent her mother out of my house in America.”
