I Have Over N100m In My Heritage Bank Account - Bbnaija Mercy Eke Cries Out

Nigerian reality TV star Mercy Eke has cried out following the closure of Heritage Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

In a post on her official X account, she claimed that she had over N100 million in her account before the CBN decided to close the bank.

According to her, she started banking with Heritage Bank in 2019 after she won the season because they were advised to do so by the organisers of the Big Brother Naija show.

She wrote, “I really don’t no how to react about this, I have been hoping for the best, thinking there’s a way out. #heritagebank.”

When asked why she chose the bank instead of other banks, Mercy Eke said, “That was the bank that sponsored Bbn during my set, for them to pay our money we were advised to open an account with them, stupid me went ahead and funded the account, don’t worry I’m full of regrets right now.”

Also, when another X user asked what her account manager was doing about the issue, Eke accused her of luring her to put her money in the bank, knowing what was at stake.

“She lured me into fixing my money, knowing fully well there’s been issues with the bank. I don’t have words for her, I blame myself,” she wrote.

News About Nigeria reported that the CBN closed down Heritage Bank on Monday over the bank’s failure to improve its financial performance.

CBN alleged that Heritage Bank’s inability to improve its financial performance posed a threat to financial stability.
