Tinubu's One Year In Office: Nothing To Celebrate, Says Atiku's Aide

The media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has stated that there is nothing to celebrate about the past year of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, News About Nigeria reports.

He stated this while speaking in an interview with newsmen, maintaining that the past year has been a total waste.

Ibe noted that the past year has been all about propaganda by the All Progressive Congress (APC), adding that if there was anything tangible, it would be visible in the lives of Nigerians.

He maintained that all that has been visible in the past year is the shattered hopes of the people and the renewed hopelessness that has continued under the Buhari-led administration.

“It’s been one year of waste and shattered hopes. There is nothing to celebrate; even the process of rendering accounts by ministers is a waste of resources.

“They claim it is renewed hope, but what we’ve seen in the last year is renewed hopelessness. The hopelessness that started with the Muhammadu Buhari administration is a continuation of that government,” he stated.

He opined that all the promises of the president have gone unfulfilled, and he maintained that the promise to fix the battered economy he inherited from his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, has gone unfulfilled 12 months down the line.

According to him, President Bola Tinubu was only willing to grab, snatch, and run with power, and having done that, he’s been unable to govern.

He added that the President has continued to play politics, which is all he has been doing since May 29, 2023.
