Ihedioha: Imo Ex-Gov Visits LP’s Otti After Dumping PDP

On Sunday, Emeka Ihedioha, a former Governor of Imo State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited Governor Alex Otti in Abia State few weeks after dumping the PDP.

Although the duo are yet to give details of Ihedioha’s visit to Otti’s Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South residence, there are speculations that the former governor is scouting for a party to join.

Ihedioha, who had also served as a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives during the former President Muhammadu Buhari regime was warmly received by his host.

News About Nigeria reports that Abia state governor is the only governor elected under the platform of the Labour Party in the South East and Nigeria as a whole.

Recall that Ihedioha had resigned his membership of the PDP, citing the controversy over the position of the National Secretary of the party.

The former PDP chieftain had also noted that the way the party was going no longer tallied with his political belief as a person and is opposed to his principles as a politician.

Ihedioha lamented that the PDP has now deviated from its core principles which endeared him to the party in the first place.

The former governor stated that with the way the party is going, the party is no longer able to come together and produce better ideas that they would use to effectively to oppose the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He had also accused the PDP of feigning ignorance to all his counsel on how to rebuild the party despite the current crisis rocking the party.

Before his resignation, Ihedioha was a member of the PDP for 26 years (since 1998).
