Cosmos: Ex-PDP Presidential Aspirant Quits Party

Former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe, has quit the party, News About Nigeria reports.

He disclosed this in a letter by the former Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, to the Chairman of his Item C Ward in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

He stated that his reasons for exiting the party were due to his current commitments and aspirations, adding that after careful consideration, it was the best decision for him.

Dr. Cosmos, who was the former Chief of Staff to the Governor and Commissioner for Works under ex-Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, expressed his gratitude for the myriad of opportunities the Party opened him up to throughout his years serving in various capacities in the PDP.

According to him, serving within the party has been a privilege, as it has provided him with the chance to contribute to the party’s objectives and ideals.

“I hope this letter finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I compose this correspondence to tender my resignation as a member and stakeholder in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, effective immediately.

“My decision to resign as a member of the party stems from personal reasons and reflections on my current commitments and aspirations.

“Serving within the party has been a privilege, and I have valued the relationships I have built with fellow members, as well as the chance to contribute to the party’s objectives and ideals,” he stated.

He, however, noted that while he may be stepping away from his formal role, he remains committed to the principles of democracy and the progress of Abia State.
