Kogi Vigilante Service Gets New Operational Vehicles

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has unveiled new operational vehicles for the state vigilante service, News About Nigeria reports.

According to the governor, the vehicles are to enhance the efficiency of security in the state through the local vigilantes.

The governor said this during the unveiling of the vehicles today at the Muhamadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja.

Ododo noted that providing the vehicles is part of his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the people and their properties in every part of the state.

The governor noted that the vehicles donated to the local vigilante today are the first as many more are still on the way.

Ododo further stated that his administration is committed to ensuring that they deliver all the promises they made to the people, so, today’s unveiling of the vehicles is part of it.

The governor said, “Today’s event is a further testament to our collective resolve as a government to tackle security challenges in the state head-on with enhanced speed and overall efficiency of our security operatives.

“These operational security vehicles, which are the first installment of several hundred to be provided over the next few weeks, will advance the safety and security of lives and property in all parts of the state, as they stand as one of our most significant operational responses yet to the recent upsurge in criminal activities in some parts of the state.”

The Kogi state governor, therefore, tasked the local vigilante to maximise the vehicles in their fight against insecurity, adding that, he believes that when they are better equipped, they will deliver results.

He also called on the people of the state to continue to partner with local security in the fight against insecurity.
