I’m Ready For Investigation, Bobrisky Says

Nollywood actress Simi Gold has sympathised with popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, whose sentence has been deferred to a later date.

While showing her solidarity, the actress, who was previously convicted of Naira mutilation in February, encouraged Bobrisky, saying that he would come out stronger.

News About Nigeria reported that the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday found Bobrisky guilty of Naira abuse and fixed April 9 to sentence him.

The crossdresser, who is still in custody awaiting the sentence of the court, was today arraigned before Justice Abimbola Awogboro on four count allegations.

The EFCC had filed a six-count charge against Bobrisky, of which the first 4 counts bordered on abuse of the naira while the last two counts bordered on alleged money laundering.

Before the charge was read to the defendant, the EFCC prosecutor, Sulaiman, asked the court to strike out counts five and six.

He said, “We have an agreement with the defendant, which will lead us to withdraw counts 5 and 6. In the circumstances, we’re humbly urging the court to strike out counts 5 and 6, leaving counts 1 to 4 alive.”

In response to this in a post on her Instagram page, Simi who is friends with Bobrisky, noted that she stands in solidarity with him and knows that he would come out stronger.

She wrote, “Nothing do you, my friend, you’re coming out of this stronger, with your head up.”

In another post, she added, “sending you loads of love, my sweetheart,” along with a picture of them at a function.
