Is Naira Marley Referring To Mohbad’s Wife In ‘Tani Baba Baby’ Video?

A video of Naira Marley singing ‘Tani Baba Baby’ speculated to have been mocking Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, surfaced on social media today, causing a stir among users.

In the video, Naira Marley reportedly joined those calling for a DNA test to determine the paternity of Liam, the late singer Mohbad’s son, who was previously signed to Naira Marley’s record label.

Speculations have arisen since Mohbad’s death, suggesting that his wife, Omowunmi Aloba, may have been unfaithful and that Liam might not be Mohbad’s biological child.

Many, including Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, have called for a DNA test to clarify Liam’s paternity.

In the viral clip, fans heard Naira Marley and Prince AK discussing the paternity of Wunmi’s child and suggesting a DNA test.

Some even speculated that Naira Marley might release a diss track aimed at mocking Mohbad and his widow, Omowunmi.

However, questions arise regarding the authenticity of the video—whether it’s real, doctored, or recent.

A quick search on Google revealed that the video was initially posted on TikTok in 2021 by Prince AK, before Liam was born and when Mohbad was still signed to Malian Records.

This shows that although the timing of the video resurfacing is unfortunate, Naira Marley couldn’t have been referring to Wunmi at the time.

Mohbad, a rising Nigerian musician, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the young age of 27.

Reports indicate that he succumbed to complications arising from an infection, which he had been receiving treatment for by an unlicensed nurse.

The nurse responsible for his treatment was subsequently arrested following Mohbad’s untimely demise.

The unfortunate incident occurred nearly a year after Mohbad parted ways with Naira Marley’s record label.

In the aftermath of Mohbad’s death, it was revealed that the singer had filed a police report in June 2023, alleging assault and property damage by Samson Erinfolami Balogun, also known as Sam Larry.

Mohbad accused Sam Larry, a music promoter closely associated with Naira Marley, of orchestrating an attack during a video shoot.

He claimed that Sam Larry arrived with a group of 15 armed men who purportedly worked for monarch Oba Elegushi, leading to the destruction of property and physical harm.

Subsequently, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arraigned on October 6, 2023, in connection with Mohbad’s death. They were remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.

However, they were later released on bail, amidst ongoing investigations into their alleged involvement in the tragic incident.

Amid the call for a paternity test, Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, who had previously expressed her willingness for a DNA test on her son, said she is no longer open to a DNA test on Liam.

Wunmi argued that only her late husband had the right to request a paternity test for their son.

She claimed Mohbad deflowered her and was the only man she had ever known.

Wunmi said, “Mohbad disvirgined me; nobody has the right to tell me to do a DNA test. I have never slept with any man except him. I will never do any DNA; no one can tell me to do DNA except I wish to. Koni daa fun gbogbo yin ranting about DNA.”
