The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed his happiness over the judgement of the Supreme Court, stating that it is a win for the people of the state, News About Nigeria reports.

While speaking to journalists after the judgement of the Supreme Court in Abuja on Monday, Alia noted that his victory is a motivation for his administration to put in more effort to ensure that they improve the development of the state.

He further noted that it was justice that was delivered at 100 per cent, adding that his victory demonstrates that justice is justice and that the truth will always prevail.

“I am very excited; we are pleased it came to this point. It is going to ginger us some more to do great things for the state,” he said.

He also urged stakeholders and people in the state to come together and work in unity to ensure that Benue State progresses and develops at a high speed.

The governor appealed to them to unite and contribute to the state’s development, regardless of their political affiliations.

It was earlier reported that the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the Benue governorship election, Titus Uba.

However, the governorship election petition tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja affirmed the election of Hyacinth Alia as governor of Benue State.

Uba, who was dissatisfied with the judgement of the appeal court, had approached the apex court for redress.
