Why I Exhumed, Reburied My Mother – Portable

Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Portable, performed at the praise night of Celestial Church of Christ, Goshen Land Cathedral, in Lagos State despite the criticism that followed his invitation to the event.

In a now-viral video on the internet, the ‘Zazuu’ crooner was seen singing on the stage with church members excitedly cheering him on Friday night.

Portable who was passionately performing his popular track, “Zazuu,” blended in with the church by wearing their white garment.

News About Nigeria gathered that popular Fuji musician Alabi Pasuma also performed at the concert despite the uproar that met his invitation and that of Portable.

It can be recalled that when flyers for the concert were released online, it sparked many controversies among Nigerians on social media.

Many people had condemned their invitation to the concert, noting that they were secular musicians and should not be ministering in the church, which is meant to be a spiritual place.

Also, the Celestial Church leader, Olatosho Oshoffa, had condemned the development, ordering that Portable and Pasuma be stopped from performing at the praise night.

However, the resident pastor of the church, Aderemi Dabiri, who invited the two artistes explained that they were invited to win souls for Christ.

According to him, bringing secular artists to church was a good way of luring the unbelievers to church, winning their souls and making them converts to the church.

Also reacting to the criticism, Portable shared in a post on social media that he must perform at the church event.

Keeping to his words, the artiste arrived at the venue of the praise night on Friday and thrilled the audience.
