Innoson Marks Ooni Of Ife's Eighth Anniversary With Cars Donations

To commemorate the eighth anniversary of Adeyeye Ogunwusi’s as Ooni of Ife, Innoson Vehicles donated three motorcycles and two cars as a major gesture, News About Nigeria reports.

The company was represented at the occasion by Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, the chairman of the indigenous automaker, who gave the Ooni branded motorcycles, an Innoson Shuttle van, and an IVM Smart vehicle.

An outstanding employee will get one of the new cars at the forthcoming Staff Appreciation Night.

Other deserving staff members will receive branded Innoson motorcycles as tokens of appreciation.

During the celebration, the Ooni of Ife urged government representatives to make it a priority to buy at least 70% of state cars from domestic manufacturers like Innoson.

Olori Ogunwusi, his wife, thanked Innoson’s Chairman Chukwuma for his many years of valuable contributions to Nigerian development and promised that their foundation would keep pushing Innoson cars across the country through consumer support.

In related news, the Ooni of Ife denied circulating news suggesting he visited the Kuje prison to meet former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

The Ooni clarified that the visit was part of the commemoration of his eighth anniversary and that there was no meeting with Godwin Emefiele as implied by the misleading reports.

In a statement, he said that the event was organised in partnership with Kuje correctional authority and focused on giving hope to inmates for reintegration into society after completing their terms.

“The intent of those spreading the news was to blackmail the monarch; there is nothing hidden about the event. In any case, the king never met Emefiale because it was an official event organised by the NGO in conjunction with the Kuje Correction Centre.”
