Iyabo Ojo Celebrates Amidst Reports Of Lizzy Anjorin’s Gold Theft

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has filed a lawsuit against her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, seeking damages of N500 million over alleged defamation, News About Nigeria gathered.

The dispute unfolded on Instagram Live sessions conducted by Anjorin, where she made references to a character named ‘Sepeteri’ allegedly connected to a prominent but undisclosed blog.

Anjorin also suggested knowledge of circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad, the late singer who died on September 12, 2023.

Iyabo Ojo, perceiving the remarks to be directed at her, responded with a video challenging Anjorin and hinting at potential legal action.

Despite the warning, Anjorin continued with additional accusations.

In the lawsuit, Iyabo Ojo is demanding N500 million in damages, a public apology, and the retraction of the alleged defamatory comments.

Anjorin has been given a 14-day ultimatum to respond to the lawsuit.

The legal letter from Iyabo Ojo’s team states, “Our client came on her verified social media handle on Instagram and called out your name and asked if you were referring to her as ‘Sepeteri’…

“We formally make the following demands that you publish in four national papers retracting all libellous publications within fourteen days from the date on this letter.”

The letter further demands the payment of N500 million as damages within the same period. Failure to comply within the stipulated time will result in legal action, according to the letter.

“That you pay a sum of N500,000,000 to our client as damages to assuage her battered image caused by your defamatory publications within fourteen days from the date on this letter.

“If you fail or neglect to accede to our demands within fourteen days from the date of this letter, we shall be left to activate full weight of legal machinery against you, without any further recourse to you.”
