The residence of Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, the Nigerian Afro-pop singer, has suffered significant damage due to a fire outbreak, News About Nigeria reports.

A video capturing the intense flames and the subsequent efforts to salvage the remnants of the house has gone viral.

The footage shows the fire consuming the singer’s property, causing losses estimated to be worth millions of naira.

Concerned Nigerians can be seen attempting to salvage whatever is left of the residence.

Small Doctor confirmed the incident via an Instagram post where he expressed gratitude to God for the preservation of life and safety.

Despite the property losses, he maintained an optimistic outlook, stating that it is a sign of greater things to come.

He reassured his followers, saying, “No pressure for the Lord is with me”, and emphasized that there were no casualties.

“Ile Alaafin to jo, ewa lo bu kun, that is to say king house wey burn na make beautification fit plenty,” the post reads in part which translates to ‘a king’s house that burns is for beautification’.

Small Doctor, known for hits like ‘Gbagaun’, ‘Penalty’, and ‘Mosquito Killer’, rose to prominence in 2012.

‘Penalty’ won the award for ‘Best Street Hop’ at The Headies 2018.

He released his debut studio album, ‘Street Ambassador’, in July 2015, featuring collaborations with artistes like Pasuma, Dre San, and Young Legxy.

Small Doctor has since then made a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry with a number of awards to his credit.

The singer has been actively involved in major concerts, including the ‘Omo Better Concert’ in 2018, held at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
