The Lagos Coroner Court has revealed that while the external examination of Mohbad’s autopsy proceedings is complete, the crucial toxicology test is being conducted in the United States of America (USA), News About Nigeria gathered.

This information was shared by the state counsel, O. Akinde, during a session at the court on Wednesday.

He said; “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”

Akinde made this known following the insistence of other counsel to the father of the deceased, David Fadimu, that of TNKay Music Worldwide, David Nawoola, and representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu, O.S.A. Aranmolaran.

The Coroner, Magistrate Shotobi, asked to know why the toxicology was taken abroad when there are toxicology laboratories in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Mohbad’s mother, Mrs Olumiyi, has alleged that the singer’s father is obstructing the burial process.

She claimed that the police had released the body, awaiting the family to claim it for burial.

“Mohbad’s corpse has been released since the completion of the autopsy but his father has refused to let his corpse be released for burial despite me begging him repeatedly.

“I went to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police last week, and he told me that Mohbad’s remains had been released before now questioning why we are letting his body waste away and if we are happy that he’s dead,” she said.

In a viral video, she sought support from Nigerians, appealing to President Bola Tinubu, youths, and friends of the late artiste.

Contrary to this, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has insisted that nobody should collect his son’s body for burial without his authorisation.

In a video shared on TikTok, he emphasised his control over the burial proceedings, stating that he alone would authorise any actions related to the late singer’s remains.

This development comes on the two-month mark since the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse and the initiation of the autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
