The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s government is the most transparent in the history of Nigeria.
Ribadu said this in response to the call made by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 election, Peter Obi, for Tinubu’s administration to be accountable to Nigerians.
News About Nigeria had reported that Peter Obi, in a post on his X official account, berated Tinubu’s administration over its claim that the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari handed over a bankrupt nation to him.
Obi also called on the government of the day to be transparent to Nigerians by disclosing exactly the degree of deficit it inherited from Buhari to enable the public to know where the country is and where it is heading.
Responding to Obi, Ribadu said, “This government is rather the most transparent government ever in the history of Nigeria to do things publicly.”
He added that Tinubu’s administration is not ignorant of what Nigerians are facing, which is why it is focused on working rather than talking.
Speaking on Tinubu’s administration’s achievement, Ribadu claimed that security has improved across Nigeria since the president assumed office on May 29, 2023, despite the fact that they inherited tough times in terms of security.
The NSA also called on Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu-led government as they work towards taking Nigeria out of the bankruptcy and insecurity the last administration left behind.
He further appealed to the people to partner with the government to ensure that the administration delivers on its promises to the people.
