A clergyman identified as David Musa, who served at the Evangelical Church Winning All in Kogi State, has been killed by his abductors, even after they reportedly collected a ransom of N1 million.

The tragic episode unfolded when Pastor Musa was abducted on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Obajana, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

News About Nigeria gathered that his lifeless body was discovered on Tuesday, November 14, indicating a gruesome end to the ordeal.

The perpetrators initially demanded a ransom of N20 million, an amount beyond the capacity of both the church and the family to raise.

Faced with the challenge, they pleaded with the kidnappers, who eventually reduced the ransom to N1 million.

The kidnappers, however, added an unusual condition, requesting the church to include recharge cards, chicken, and alcoholic drinks when delivering the ransom.

In compliance with the demands, two church members were designated to deliver the money and items.

When they reached the kidnappers’ location, they saw the pastor alive. Surprisingly, the kidnappers instructed Pastor Musa and the church members to return home.

However, the situation took a tragic turn when the pastor was called back and subsequently shot, leading to his immediate death.

The news of the pastor’s murder was first disseminated on the church’s social media platform, where members expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic turn of events.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Police Command assured the public that an investigation has been initiated.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, affirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the heinous crime.Top of Form
