The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva, has expressed sadness over the fact that voter registers from three units of his ward in Okpoama, Brass LGA of the state were not uploaded, News About Nigeria reports.

Sylva disclosed this shortly after casting his votes on Saturday in the off-cycle governorship election in the state, blaming INEC for the problem, which he described as “a careless mistake.”

According to him, the affected polling units were polling units 3, 5, and 9.

He noted that the issue had been reported to the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the commission had promised to resolve the issue and extend the voting time in the affected polling units.

He, however, expressed confidence in the fate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state, maintaining that the party was going to do well while commending the electoral umpire for improving the conduct of polls, adding that there was room for improvement.

Sylva further alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, tried to incite violence across the various polling units in the state, noting that they tried to molest the voters with security.

According to him, the security in Bayelsa state was on the side of the PDP, especially the army.

The flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state also lauded the efforts of the electoral commission, noting that a lot of improvements have been made. He further stated that the process was not a foolproof system, but a human one; therefore, lapses were bound to take place
