The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a cleric and paraded a married couple, Olomolaye Sesan and his wife Kehinde, for allegedly raping and injuring a 17-year-old girl.

The husband and wife were apprehended by agents from the Juvenile Women Centre (JWC), which is part of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ekiti State Police Command.

They were paraded alongside thirteen other individuals, including a cleric, accused of drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape, and conspiracy.

News About Nigeria gathered that household belongings, power-generating devices, and forty packages of cannabis sativa were retrieved from them.

The victim, a student at a public secondary school in Ilawe-Ekiti, is the younger sister of Kehinde Olomolaye, who lives with her and hawks things, according to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Sunday Abutu.

According to an Ekiti State Police Command representative, Kehinde Olomolaye conspired with her husband to rape the victim many times.

“The couple is currently assisting the police with their investigation, and they have both confessed to the crime. They would be scheduled before a court as soon as feasible,” Kehinde stated.

Saliu Rasak, a 43-year-old Islamic preacher, was also paraded by the police for allegedly defiling two young females in Agbado-Ekiti, Gbonyin local government area of the state.

According to the authorities, the victims sought the clergyman in search of spiritual favour and visited his apartment for greater spiritual power.

The suspected preacher, who is presently being interrogated, is accused of giving them a specific soap and claiming that the victims will receive favour after bathing with it.

The victims were then lured to the cleric’s house, where, for the soap to successfully work, he had to forcefully have carnal knowledge of them.
