The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has revealed that its president’s condition has worsened as he can barely talk.

News About Nigeria gathered that the Congress is considering flying him abroad for a full medical examination.

This is coming after the President was attacked and beaten by alleged agents of the state, including policemen, on Wednesday in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Recall that suspected agents of the state and security operatives had attacked Aajaro alongside other Labour leaders, inflicting various degrees of injuries on the leaders, including those who had gathered at the NLC State secretariat to begin a scheduled protest over pending labour issues.

The president was spotted looking very weak and was, thereafter, referred for an ophthalmic investigation, a head/brain scan, a full body scan, and cervical spine therapy, among others.

The Assistant General Secretary and Chief of Staff to the NLC president, Chris Onyeka, speaking on the health condition of the President, said, “There is high apprehension and fear that he might have been injected with substance”.

According to him, Ajaero is in a critical condition, weak and can barely talk. He disclosed that the President almost passed out last night and that the Congress is considering flying him abroad for a full medical examination.

However, leaders of NLC and TUC have been scheduled to meet next week on Tuesday to decide on an appropriate response to the attack and brutalization of the NLC President and other Labour leaders in Owerri.

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, however, said he had no hands in union matters in the state.
