Supreme Court Fixes Date To Hear Atiku’s Petition Against Tinubu’s Victory

As the battle to determine the rightful winner of the 2023 presidential election continues, the Supreme Court has scheduled a date to hear the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, against President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

The hearing is set for Monday, October 23, according to a memo obtained by News About Nigeria.

In September, Atiku submitted a 35-point appeal challenging the ruling in the presidential election petitions that confirmed Tinubu’s victory.

This new petition comes after the Presidential Election Petition Court dismissed petitions filed by Atiku and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, contesting the election of President Tinubu.

The former vice president has also made a request to submit new evidence against the president, which he obtained from Chicago State University. Atiku insists that Tinubu’s academic credentials contain inconsistencies and forgeries. He has appealed to the Supreme Court to remove Tinubu from office.
