Josephine Otabor, widely known as Phyna, the winner of BBNaija Season 7, has opened up about her mental health, raising concerns following her recent family issues.

News About Nigeria gathered that reports emerged that Phyna distanced herself from her family shortly after winning the N100 million grand prize from the reality show in 2022.

In an interview with a newspaper, her father, Mr. Felix Otabor, revealed his distress, stating that his daughter disappeared from their lives after receiving her prize money and has not returned home since.

He expressed worry over Phyna’s lack of communication with the family.

Phyna initially threatened legal action against the publication, and then she took to her Snapchat account to share her perspective, making some allegations against her parents.

“I think it’s time for me to sue this useless vanguard, they’ve been tormenting me with texts and calls. I mistakenly picked one of the numbers 4 days back immediately, I said hello, the useless man just said he was Ben Njoku from Vanguard and the next thing this bastard started asking questions,” she wrote.

In her posts, she revealed a troubled family history, accusing her parents of not showing her parental love and claiming they often told her she wasn’t their daughter.

She even mentioned feeling like an orphan due to their treatment.

In a recent Instagram post, Phyna disclosed that she is currently going through a challenging period and expressed concern about her mental health.

She said, “Jokes apart, I’m going through hell of sh**s. The internal battles I fight are way bigger than me. Very honestly, for the very first time, my mental health is at stake.”
