The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2023 Internal Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

According to NECO, 61.60 per cent of the candidates who participated in the examination scored five credits and above, including English and Mathematics.

This percentage represents a significant achievement for the students who successfully met the minimum requirements for academic progress.

However, NECO also identified a concerning issue, as 93 schools were found to be involved in mass cheating during the examination.

Additionally, 52 supervisors were implicated for poor supervision and aiding and abetting during the exams.

As a result, these supervisors are recommended for blacklisting, and the erring schools will be summoned for discussions with appropriate sanctions applied.

In total, the examination had 1,196,985 candidates sitting for it, including 1,543 candidates with special needs.

The release of the results marks a significant milestone for these students as they progress in their educational journey.

News About Nigeria gathered that NECO had initially planned to release the examination results within 45 days after concluding the exams in early August 2023.

However, they failed to meet this deadline.

Subsequently, NECO announced two more potential release dates, which were September 26 and 30, but they were unable to release the results on those dates as well.

As a result, NECO rescheduled the release for October 5, 2023.

Unfortunately, this date also came and went without the results being made available, until today when the result was released.
