Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, has spoken about her son’s journey to success, describing him as a ‘work in progress’ with many more milestones to achieve, News About Nigeria gathered.

She has been a pivotal figure in the Afrofusion artiste’s life, supporting and guiding him from an early age.

In her recent remarks, Bose Ogulu reminisced about Burna Boy’s early passion for music, stating that she recognised his potential at the age of 13 or 14.

She revealed that music was the path she saw him destined to pursue.

Her involvement in Burna Boy’s music career began when he was in high school, where he formed a band.

She revealed that they struck a deal where she would offer him studio time in exchange for achieving good grades in school.

“He’s still a work in progress. There are many more milestones to attain. I have known, since he was probably 13/14, that he was going to be great at something. And that thing was probably music.

“I had already seen him in the studio. I had already watched him form a high school band.

“We started trading studio time for grades. When I would say ‘If you make a B or an A in this, I’ll pay for studio time

“The African parents that we were trained to be, you always want to make them go to school and get a degree just because you are convincing yourself they need a safety net,” she said.
