Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shed light on why Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), did not emerge victorious in the 2023 presidential election.

According to reports from News About Nigeria, Odumodublvck believes that Obi’s defeat can be attributed to the absence of a strong supporter similar to Lagos’ MC Oluomo, a prominent ally of President Bola Tinubu.

In the February 25 election, Peter Obi secured the third-highest number of votes, trailing behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Odumodublvck, who recently released a single titled ‘MC Oluomo’, which is named after the influential Lagos State Transport Union leader, faced criticism from supporters of Peter Obi.

However, during his album listening party in Abuja, Odumodublvck clarified that he had supported Peter Obi in the election.

The rapper emphasized that Peter Obi’s chances of winning the election would have been higher if he had a strong supporter like MC Oluomo.

“They started insulting me that I’m singing for MC Oluomo, idiots. Declan Rice is not about Declan Rice. MC Oluomo is not about MC Oluomo.

“I myself was on the other side of politics supporting Peter Obi. But I can’t even lie if Peter Obi had an MC Oluomo we would have had a chance.

“Person wey be sey when they are winning us for ballot box he go sey common una papa, scatter am. That’s what we need to take the country, power is not given, it is taken. Whatever you are doing in your life, have MC Oluomo in you.”
