Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has restated his loyalty to the Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Mr Omokri, a supporter of the Atiku Abubakar presidential ambition, in a tweet on Friday, said that he would continue to support Atiku Abubakar for the foreseeable future.
“Nigerians need to understand mature politics. That I am unwilling to lie against Tinubu does not mean I have abandoned Atiku and now support Tinubu. I support Atiku today, tomorrow, and for the foreseeable future. However, I support truth FOREVER!” Omokri wrote.
His clarification comes amid widespread speculations of his bromance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). There have been speculations that Omokri who had in recent weeks continued to defend the academic records of President Bola Tinubu against allegations that the president did not graduate from the institution, was seeking appointment from the ruling party despite being a strong follower of the Atiku.
News About Nigeria recalls that part of the issues brought against the emergence of President Bola Tinubu was the authenticity of the certificate he presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the buildup to the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku and Obi had claimed that Tinubu presented a fake certificate to INEC in the buildup to the 2023 presidential election. However, the election umpire struck petitions brought by Atiku and Obi against the election of President Bola Tinubu.
