Chelsea have issued an injury update on several of their players as they prepare to face Bournemouth in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.

The self-acclaimed pride of London seems to have carried over their woes of last season into the new one. Chelsea under the new manager Mauricio Pochettino’s have now won one, out of their four opening EPL games.

News About Nigeria reports that the Blues drew Liverpool 1-1 in their opening fixture at Stamford Bridge while losing to West Ham and Nottingham Forest. Their first win in the league came against Luton Town, in a match that ended 3-0.

However, following the short international break, Pochettino’s boys are now back, hoping to find their fit in their duel this weekend against The Cherries, while announcing some injury updates

Here’s a breakdown of the individual injuries and their respective stages of recovery:

Benoit Badiashile: The defender has returned to full team training as he enters the reconditioning phase. Badiashile’s progress suggests he is getting closer to full fitness and availability for selection.

Marcus Bettinelli: The Blues goalkeeper is still working through his rehabilitation program.

Armando Broja: Like Badiashile, Broja has also rejoined full team training as he continues with his reconditioning phase.

Trevoh Chalobah: Chalobah continues to undergo his rehabilitation program.

Carney Chukwuemeka: Chukwuemeka, also, is in the rehabilitation phase as he continues to work on the injury he picked up in the match against West Ham.

Wesley Fofana: Fofana is currently following his rehabilitation program, striving to regain full fitness. His return to the pitch is said to depend on his progress and assessment by medical staff.

Reece James: The Chelsea captain and defender is also in the rehabilitation phase, and could possibly be away for a couple more weeks.

Christopher Nkunku: Nkunku is undergoing his rehabilitation program, focusing on recovering from his injury before any hard decision. His return date has been hinged on the level of his progress.

Romeo Lavia: Lavia is currently under assessment for an injury, he has been put under evaluation to determine the extent and nature of his injury. Recall he’s yet to make his first Chelsea debut.
