Harry Kane, who recently made a £100 million move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham, has praised the winning mentality at his new club while making a subtle dig at his former team, News About Nigeria reports.

Kane, who has scored three goals since joining the German giants, spoke about the difference in expectations between the two clubs.

In his words, “At Spurs, we wanted to win, but if we went a couple of games without winning, it wasn’t a disaster.

“At Bayern, you have to win every game. After winning 3-1 and 4-0 in our first two games, there was talk about not being too happy about the way we played! That’s a top club mentality,” he added.

Kane’s move to Bayern was motivated by his desire to win trophies and have a feel of a new environment. Recall he failed to secure a major trophy during his 11-year stint at Tottenham.

Bayern Munich on the other hand, boasts an impressive domestic record, having won the Bundesliga for an outstanding 11 consecutive seasons.

However, Kane’s debut for Bayern Munich was a disappointment, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Red Bull Leipzig in the German Cup. Since then, Kane has made amends with notable performances, scoring against Werder Bremen and netting a brace against Augsburg, taking his Bundesliga goal tally to three.

In contrast, Tottenham, who finished eighth in the Premier League last season and failed to qualify for European competitions, have performed well domestically this season, despite losing their star striker.

New signing James Maddison and star forward Son Heung-min have stepped up in the goal-scoring department, with Son securing a hat-trick in their recent 5-2 victory over Burnley.
