FRSC Warns Public Against False Recruitment Information

The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern warning against motorists indulging in bribing FRSC personnel in the state, News About Nigeria reports.

Fredrick Ogidan, the state Sector Commander, made this announcement while speaking to sources in Ilorin.

In the first half of this year, the Kwara FRSC arrested 42 road traffic offenders for attempting to bribe road marshals. Instead of paying their fines, they resorted to bribing their way out. Ogidan stated that this practice will no longer be tolerated.

“The offenders were booked and made to pay fines for their offenses, but rather than pay their fines, they opted to bribe their way out.

“But let me warn that the music has changed. If you are caught making any attempt to bribe marshals on the road, we will send you to court. Stop offering them bribes, or you will face the music. No more mercy for violators,” Ogidan warned.

He also encouraged motorists in the state to report any personnel demanding bribes from them and urged them to call his official line at 08077690801 for complaints.

Ogidan advised motorists to prioritize safety over profit, emphasizing the importance of not overloading their vehicles, which can lead to accidents and loss of lives.

“Your safety should come first before thinking about profit. Be cautious and stop taking too much risk on the road,” he emphasized.

Ogidan assured the public that the FRSC would continue to effectively discharge its duties to ensure public safety on the roads.

This warning comes as part of efforts by the commission to combat corruption and ensure road safety in Kwara State, with a focus on reducing the practice of bribing traffic officers.
