Twitter users have reacted to transfer market updates linking three of Chelsea players to Saudi Arabia clubs, News About Nigeria reports.

Following a series of updates by transfer market guru, Fabrizio Romano on three Chelsea players – Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Hakim Ziyech moving to clubs in the Saudi Pro League, Twitter has been agog with rhetorics by users who have declared the West London club “Al Chelsea”.

The initial (Al) arguably comes from the initials of the clubs to which these players have been linked.

According to Romano, Mendy is sorted for by Al Ahli,

“Understand Edouard Mendy has now agreed personal terms with Saudi side Al Ahli — contract will be valid until June 2026.

“Negotiations at final stages for Senegal goalkeeper to join Saudi league from Chelsea on permanent deal,” he said.

Meanwhile, in an earlier post in the bird app, he announced that Koulibaly is headed for Al Hilal, while Ziyech may be moving to Al Nassr.

“Growing confidence tonight at Chelsea for Kalidou Koulibaly to accept Al Hilal contract proposal valid until 2026. It’s about key details now.

“Both Koulibaly to Al Hilal and Ziyech to Al Nassr deals are advancing well and fast.”

However, the famous blogger also pointed out in a bother tweet that none of the deals have been struck yet, as they are all in the talking stage, except that of N’Golo Kante which has been signed.

“Edou Mendy has not signed yet with Al Ahli but it will happen soon, this week is the week for Mendy, Koulibaly and also Ziyech deals to go through.

“Mendy’s contract is verbally agreed for the next three years, June 2026 — as called earlier today.

“Kanté-Ittihad, signed,” Romano added.

Trailing these updates are reactions from Twitter users who have described Chelsea as selling their players to Saudi clubs for money.

A user tweeted – “Think it’s safe to call us Al Chelsea,” another said “Witchcraft is when you are praying for the Saudis to buy and own your football club outright. and at the same time, you are against the Saudis buying foreign players to promote Arab league.”

In a separate tweet, a user pointed out that “People are writing threads about Chelsea. Some are writing Articles. Some are calling Chelsea cheat. Those that celebrated Roman’s sanction are now crying about Bohley

“Today I feel Saudi we are back baby Al- Chelsea,” it added.

Chelsea is on the verge of letting out a chunk of its players, a team that was heavily criticized to be bloated last season.
