Sophia Momodu, the first baby mama of popular Nigerian singer David “Davido” Adeleke, has opened up about the challenges she faces in raising their daughter, Imade Adeleke, as a single mother.
News About Nigeria confirms that during an Instagram live session with her fans, Sophia revealed that she never wanted to raise a child alone, but it has become her reality.
The entrepreneur expressed her disappointment that her worst fear has come true, as she finds herself solely responsible for the upbringing of Imade after allegedly being abandoned by the singer.
She said; “My worst fear has happened to me, so I don’t think anything scares me in life anymore. I never wanted to raise a child alone, and now I’m doing it.”
This revelation comes after Sophia recently hinted at Davido’s failure to fulfill his fatherly duties, sparking rumors of him being a “deadbeat father.”
Sophia also disclosed her intention to change their daughter’s surname from Adeleke to Momodu, emphasizing that she has been playing the role of both mother and father in Imade’s life.
In a similar vein, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh took a swipe at her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, regarding their failed marriage and the upbringing of their child.
The former couple engaged in a war of words after Churchill celebrated their son, King Andre, on his birthday. Tonto criticized him for his inconsistent involvement in their son’s life, accusing him of being a deadbeat father.
In response, Churchill claimed that Tonto was bitter about his new relationship and accused her of tarnishing his image.
Tonto reiterated her stance, alleging that Churchill fails to fulfill his financial obligations, including school fees and child support.
Tonto advised Churchill to learn from music star Davido’s example when it comes to fatherhood.
She suggested that Churchill, who is reportedly a fan of Davido, should adopt the singer’s responsible and involved approach to parenting.
Taking to her Instagram page, Tonto wrote; Thinking I have not moved on is the worst mistake you can make. i came out to make a point that you are a liar and a dead beat father who neither pays fees nor child support to any of your children!!
This should sink, learn to be a man from David. you have always been a big fan of his, adopt his fatherly nature at least to your daughter cause like i said my child will never need nothing from you not even your so called god forsaken name.
