Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has made a surprising revelation about his early success in the music industry.

News About Nigeria confirmed that during a recent interview, the award-winning artist shared that he secured a lucrative ambassadorial deal worth millions of naira at the young age of 17.

Davido disclosed that at the time, he had only two songs to his name when a prominent telecommunications company approached him with an endorsement offer worth a staggering N20 million.

The singer expressed how significant this deal was for his family, as they had never experienced such a substantial amount of money before.

The self-proclaimed “Omo Baba Olowo” (Son of a wealthy man) has been a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene for over a decade, delivering hit songs and gaining international recognition.

However, the revelation of his early success sheds light on the remarkable achievements he attained even in the early stages of his career.

Davido said: I remember when MTN, a telecommunication company came and they were like, they want to do endorsement, but then he (dad) was like, how much, and I said 20 million. I was 17. Nobody has seen that kind of money.

“Wow, this is from Music, and it’s off like two songs, of course. I’m like, ‘Daddy, see, we can do this’.

“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really really successful.
