PSG Triumphs, but Messi Faces Booing Fans

Lionel Messi could be counting his days at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as he suffered yet another booing from the French side fans in their 5-0 victory over Ajaccio on Saturday, while his team-mate Achraf Hakimi was shown a red card.

News About Nigeria gathered that Messi’s campaign with the Ligue 1 side is set to come to an end with no expectation that he will renew his contract to stay back in France, after assisting his club in the victory that consigned the visitors (Ajaccio) to relegation.

PSG took the lead with Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi’s goals at half-time. The side returned even stronger in the second half, following Kylian Mbappe’s double and Mohamed Youssouf’s own goal which compounded the visitors’ misery before Hakimi and Ajaccio midfielder Thomas Mangani were sent off on a red card offense.

With the win, PSG now top the Ligue 1 table with six points. Though the joy was cut short for Messi who was jeered by fans. The Argentine was restored to PSG team after facing suspension for taking an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.

Recall in a previous post, news About Nigeria had reported that Messi has been offered a deal in excess of $200m annually, by Saudi Arabia Pro league side, Al-Hilal.

Barcelona has also been in the race to reclaim the seven-time world best player whose initial spell at the club ended after 21 years.

PSG who have lost three of their last four games at Parc des Princes, will claim a back-to-back title cup if they beat Auxerre on Sunday, May 21.
