Corey Jah, an American rapper, has confessed to lying about his daughter’s death for two years to promote his music career.

In a viral video posted on his social media page, the Richmond rapper apologized for the deceit and stated that his daughter is alive and well in Virginia.

According to Corey Jah, he lied about his daughter’s death in order to get sympathy from people to listen to, stream his music and attend his shows, News About Nigeria understands.

He admitted that nobody was aware of his deception, but the girl had been in his house all along.

The music act expressed remorse for his actions and said that he wants people to know that he is human and made a mistake.

Corey Jah’s revelation has once again highlighted the lengths some artists go to promote their music and the pressure that comes with trying to make it in the competitive music industry.

“My daughter is definitely still alive and she’s here in Richmond. I just wanna really really let people know that I’m human, I made a mistake,” Corey said.

similarly, the Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, Ade Segun, for allegedly conspiring with two of his friends to fake his own kidnapping in Warri. According to Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the teenager and his friends, identified as Precious and Nonso, demanded a ransom of N2 million from his parents.

Upon receiving the ransom demand, the parent of the supposed victim reported the case to the police station in Warri, leading to an undercover operation. The police assigned a female officer to play along and pretend to pay the ransom money. When Precious came to collect the money, the police apprehended him and took him to the hideout where Ade and Nonso were arrested. The teenagers reportedly confessed that the kidnap plan was their idea.

Edafe disclosed the incident in a series of tweets, stating that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
