Lagos State Directs Mid-Term Break for Schools in 2022/2023 Second Term

The Lagos State Government has directed all public and private schools in the state to observe the mid-term break for the 2022/2023 second-term academic session, News About Nigeria reports.

This directive was disclosed by the Director General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, in a statement on Tuesday.

The decision to declare the mid-term break was made in line with the amended harmonized calendar approved by the Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo. The break is expected to commence on Friday, February 24, and will end on March 3. Schools will resume on March 6, while boarding school students are to return on March 5.

Seriki-Ayeni stated that the compliance with the directive is mandatory for all schools below tertiary level. She also emphasized that emergency preparedness and safety precautions must be put in place during the break.
