Ajaero's Arrest: PDP Reveals Sponsors Of #EndBadGovernance Protests

The Acting Governor of Katsina State, Faruk Jobe, has approved the review of the 24-hour curfew imposed on Dutsinma Local Government Area and 33 other LGAs in the state.

News About Nigeria reports that this decision follows reports indicating an improved security situation in the affected areas.

The curfew in Dutsinma has been adjusted to a 7:00 pm to 7:00 am restriction, providing residents with greater mobility during the day.

This change was announced after a State Security Council meeting chaired by Acting Governor Jobe on Monday evening.

Despite the relaxation of the curfew, the acting governor stressed that the ban on unusual gatherings and all types of protests remains in effect throughout the state.

“We appreciate the civil manner with which the security agents handled the hoodlums who hijacked the peaceful protest to commit criminal activities,” Jobe stated.

He also expressed gratitude to parents, guardians, and community leaders for their efforts in discouraging youths from participating in criminal activities.

In the wake of recent violence, looting, and vandalism, the State Security Council announced the arrest of several youths involved in these activities.

Following the council meeting, the Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Faskari, revealed that some of those arrested have already been charged to court for alleged criminal conspiracy, causing public disturbance, vandalisation, and theft.

A statement from Barrister Faskari, signed by Director of Press Malam Abdullahi Yar’adua, reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order.

“The Security Council appeals to people to remain calm and law-abiding, as all hands are on deck to guarantee the safety of lives and property,” the statement read.
